C & S Steel Fixing respects the privacy of the builders, contractors, developers, suppliers, employees and job applicants we deal with.
This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use, share and protect it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website and to the way we handle personal information across our steel fixing and reinforcement work.
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What personal information we collect
Through our website enquiry form
Your name, business or company name, phone number, email address, project location, and the detail of your enquiry. Anything else we hold from an enquiry is what you have chosen to include in it.
If you upload project documents
Drawings, reinforcement schedules, specifications, bills of quantities and similar files, along with any names and contact details those documents contain.
If you engage us for work
Contact details for site managers, project managers, engineers and accounts staff. Purchase orders, contracts, variations, site instructions and correspondence. Billing and payment details. Records of site attendance, programme dates, inspections and hold points.
If you are a supplier or subcontractor to us
Business and contact details, ABN, insurance certificates, and payment details.
When you use our website
Technical information collected automatically, including IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed and referring website. See our Cookie Policy.
Sensitive information. We do not seek sensitive information through our website. Where we need it for a specific purpose — for example a fitness-for-work or injury record — we will tell you why and, unless the law requires otherwise, ask for your consent first.
Government identifiers. Where we hold government-related identifiers such as a licence, ticket or card number, we use them only for the purpose they were issued for and for meeting our legal obligations. We do not adopt them as our own way of identifying you.
How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you wherever we can — through the enquiry form on this website, by phone or email, in meetings, on site, and through documents you send us.
We may also receive your information from third parties, including head contractors, principal contractors, builders, superintendents and engineers who provide your details as a project or site contact, recruiters and labour hire providers, and publicly available sources such as company and licence registers.
Where we collect personal information about you from someone else, we take reasonable steps to make sure you are aware that we hold it and why.
Unsolicited information. If we receive personal information we did not ask for and could not have collected ourselves, we destroy or de-identify it where it is lawful and reasonable to do so.
Dealing with us anonymously. You are welcome to make a general enquiry by phone without giving us your name. To quote, price or program work we will need contact and project details.
If you choose not to give us the information we ask for, we may not be able to quote accurately, take on the work, or respond to your enquiry.
Why we collect and use it

- plan, program, deliver and supervise steel fixing and reinforcement work
- coordinate with head contractors, engineers, suppliers and site personnel

- our employees, subcontractors and labour hire providers, on a need-to-know basis
- reinforcement suppliers, schedulers and equipment hire providers, where relevant to your job
- accountants, auditors, insurers, brokers and lawyers
- IT, hosting, email and software providers who support our business
- government agencies, regulators, courts and law enforcement, where required or authorised by law
We require our service providers to protect your information and to use it only for the purpose we engaged them for.
How we store and protect it
We store personal information in secure systems and, where relevant, in physical files at Commerce Ave, Bokarina QLD 4575. We take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification and disclosure.
We also take reasonable steps to keep the information we hold accurate, up to date and complete. If your details change, tell us and we will update our records.
No system is completely secure. If you have concerns about the security of information you have sent us, contact us and we will look into it.
Data breaches
If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will assess it promptly and, where required, notify the individuals affected and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Direct marketing
If you ask us to keep you updated, we may send you occasional information about our services and capability by email.
Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and we act on it promptly. You can also opt out at any time by contacting us on 0411 497 521 or [email protected]. We comply with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) and, where we make marketing calls, the Do Not Call Register.
If you ask us where we obtained your details, we will tell you if it is reasonable and practicable to do so.
Opting out of marketing does not stop us contacting you about a project, quote or service already underway.
Employee records
Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), acts and practices relating to the employee records of our current employees are generally exempt from the Australian Privacy Principles. We still handle those records carefully and limit access to people who need it. Records relating to job applicants and contractors are handled under this policy in the ordinary way.
Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct anything that is wrong, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading.

If we have already disclosed information that we then correct, and you ask us to, we will take reasonable steps to notify the parties we disclosed it to.
If we decline a request for access or correction, we will explain why in writing and tell you how to complain.
Making a complaint
If you think we have mishandled your personal information or breached the Australian Privacy Principles, tell us first.
